Our History

Few local Miami County businesses can boast the local flavor that defines Ever-Green Turf and Landscaping.

In 1975, well-known local businessman and basketball official Jim Sackett started the business. Ten years later, a young employee and Wright State graduate, Joe Duncan, bought the company from Sackett. For the next 36 years, Duncan dedicated himself to giving local Miami County residents the kind, personal service that made them feel comfortable and proud of their landscaping.

Recently, the company has transitioned again to 17-year Ever-Green veteran Kirk Persinger, who grew up under Duncan’s personal oversight of sales, service, and responsibility for customer satisfaction.

“With so many customer options for service, there’s no other way than to be personally responsible, whenever possible,” says Persinger. “Now more than ever, it’s priority one with every client, residential or commercial.

“And even with Mother Nature’s unpredictable temperament, we still promise commitment to the adjustments necessary with each new growing season. There’s no such thing as ‘one size fits all’ in the lawn and landscape industry.”

Now, more than ever, Duncan’s promise of the proverbial ‘Golden Rule’ for customer service and satisfaction is Persinger’s commitment to the future. Kirk Persinger, President and General Manager

With 20+ years of experience at Ever-Green, Kirk Persinger is the consummate professional in the field of turf and landscape management. Home-grown as an Ever-Green associate, Kirk has accumulated a broad and impressive base in turf, mowing, commercial, and residential grounds maintenance.

Patty Johnston, Office Manager and Company Controller

Patty’s the longest-tenured member of the Ever-Green staff, having been with Ever-Green since its formation in 1976. She’s been honored as “Outstanding Alumnist” by the Upper Valley Joint Vocational School. Call Patty for billing or procedure questions.

Jesse Rogers, Lawn Care Manager

Back for a third term, Jesse brings a wealth of lawn and landscaping knowledge. His diverse background gives him a rare advantage in assessing lawn and landscape options. With nearly 15 years of experience, his personality and commitment to customer relationships make him a resource you’ll welcome to your property.

Tim Anderson, Tree Care Manager

Tim, member of the Andy’s Garden family business, was raised in a greenhouse. After graduating from The Ohio State University, he founded Anderson’s Tree Tech in 1985. The next 28 years he specialized in expert tree care and trimming in the Miami County community until merging his business with Ever-Green in 2014, where he currently serves as Tree Care Manager.

Ben Evans, Landscaping Manager

Ben’s in his tenth year with Ever-Green, having risen from the lawn care department, to landscape, and in the summer of 2018 he assumed the duties of Landscaping Manager. Highly knowledgeable in all facets of property management, his personality and patience for the process of design to implementation is second to none.
